About Us
North Midlands Knights are a Rugby Football League–regulated club providing a complete and inclusive rugby league pathway across the region. We operate Open Age, Youth, and Junior programmes, offering opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to participate in a safe, structured, and development‑focused environment.
Our Purpose
The club is committed to promoting rugby league within the North Midlands by delivering high‑quality coaching, accessible playing opportunities, and a clear progression route from our youngest age groups through to senior competition. Our approach is grounded in the values of respect, teamwork, integrity, and community engagement.
Player Development Pathway
We provide a comprehensive pathway that supports players at every stage of their journey:
- Junior Programme (U5+) – Introducing children to the fundamentals of rugby league through fun, engaging sessions and regional festivals.
- Youth Programme – Offering structured competition, skill development, and progression through the Midlands pathway.
- Open Age – Representing the club at senior level, providing a competitive environment for adult players and completing the full development route from junior to senior rugby.
Each programme is delivered by qualified coaches who are trained in safeguarding and first aid, ensuring all activity meets RFL standards for player welfare and safety.
Governance and Standards
As an RFL‑regulated club, we operate in line with national policies on safeguarding, conduct, equality, and operational standards. We are committed to maintaining a professional, transparent, and accountable structure that supports the long‑term growth of the club and the sport within our region.
Volunteers and Community
Our club is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who contribute to coaching, administration, matchday operations, welfare, and community activity. Their commitment is central to the delivery of a positive and well‑organised experience for all participants.
Our Commitment
North Midlands Knights strive to provide an environment where every player — from U5 to Open Age — can enjoy the game, develop their skills, and represent their community with pride. We are dedicated to fostering a culture that supports participation, personal development, and long‑term involvement in rugby league.
