2026 marks a major milestone in the history of the North Midlands Knights as we launch our first ever Open Age team into the Midlands Merit League. This is a huge step forward for the club — a statement of our ambition, our growth, and our commitment to providing a complete pathway from juniors all the way through to senior rugby league.
Our youth teams will be entering the Midlands competition pathway, comprising of Midlands Youth Merit leagues and Festivals - stepping into a higher level of structured, exciting rugby league that pushes their development and opens clear routes through the regional and professional pathways.
Our Junior teams will be entering the Midlands Regional Junior Festivals, while also hosting and travelling to local clubs across the region. Along the way, our young players will learn the game, build their core skills, and most importantly, enjoy every moment of playing rugby league.
As a club, we are proud to be active members of Midlands Rugby League across our Open Age, Youth, and Junior programmes. Being part of this growing regional structure gives every Knight — from our youngest U5s to our senior players — the chance to compete, develop, and represent the North Midlands with pride.
